KiniNews Wrap | Bersatu deputy president Ahmad Faizal Azumu said Muhyiddin Yassin is in a "comfortable" position to continue leading Bersatu.
According to Faizal, the Bersatu supreme council meeting saw the leadership showing "solid support" for the former prime minister.
"Why are we entertaining rumours? I think his (Muhyiddin's) position as the president is very 'comfortable', and this would enable him to continue leading the party and Perikatan Nasional to greater heights," Faizal told Malaysiakini today.
He was responding to rumours of an internal war between Muhyiddin's faction and secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin’s.
Meanwhile, in a separate story, ministers are keeping mum over the Pardons Board’s decision on former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak’s bid for freedom.
Communications Minister Fahmi Fadzil urged local and international media practitioners “not to jump the gun and wait for the official statement from the Pardons Board”.
