#KiniNews: Najib relieved, grateful of acquittal, Anwar unfazed by 'delirious' Hadi

[KiniNews] Former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak and 1MDB’s former CEO Arul Kanda Kandasamy have been acquitted of abuse of power involving the audit of the sovereign wealth fund.

The Kuala Lumpur High Court this morning ruled that the prosecution failed to establish a prima facie case against the duo.

When met by the media at the entrance to the Kuala Lumpur Courts Complex after proceedings today, lead defence counsel Muhammad Shafee Abdullah said that his client Najib has been vindicated by the verdict.

Shafee added that Najib was relieved and grateful for the court findings.

Meanwhile, in a separate story, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has brushed off comments made by PAS President Abdul Hadi Awang that the unity government will fall.

“It’s okay, let him (Hadi) plan and rant (mengigau),” he told reporters after Friday prayers at the Universiti Putra Malaysia Mosque, Serdang, Selangor today.
