The hit CW show’s sophomore season has been filled with dark and twisted storylines, the main of which being the “Black Hood” mystery, and KJ promised in a recent interview that the finale will be quote “tragic.”
The 20-year-old actor who plays Archie Andrews spoke with TVLine about the upcoming finale saying quote:
“It’s a tragedy, really, what happens. I think the last episode, if I were to describe it in one way, it would be tragic — for one person in particular in the show, but for everyone, ultimately.”
Well, if I had to guess, it sounds like the grim reaper might be making a visit to Riverdale!
Camila Mendes, who plays Archie’s girlfriend Veronica Lodge, also revealed some scoop to TVLine, saying the main focus of the finale will be quote:
“Everything that’s been happening between Archie and Hiram, their relationship…I think we’re going to be worried about Archie’s fate.”
I feel like Archie can’t die because he’s the main character, DUH, but maybe this mean’s Veronica’s dad Hiram is a goner? And maybe...gasp...at the hand’s of Archie?! That really would be tragic for Veronica.
Speaking of tragedy, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa recently revealed that we haven’t seen the last of the infamous Black Hood killer. Maybe he’ll strike again?! Only time will tell.
After taking a little break, Riverdale returns on the CW Wednesday April 18th with the highly anticipated “Carrie” musical episode, and the season two finale will air May 16th. And if that news is bumming you out, don’t worry because Riverdale is coming back for a third season.
