Continuing with our quirky cafe series in South Korea we take you this time to one of our favorite spots - a Korean cat cafe (고양이 카페). There are many throughout Seoul; however, our favorite one is called 고양이다락방 (Koyangi Darakpang) and it is located within walking distance of Hongdae. Purchasing a drink (tea, coffee, etc) allows you access to all of the cats. You can basically pet them, feed them and interact with them in a respectful manner. Picking them up or disturbing them while they're sleeping in a basket is obviously frowned upon.
If you're looking to visit check out the information below.

Korean Cat Cafe in Seoul, Korea Travel Video Transcript:
So as far as quirky Korean cafes go cat cafes are considered pretty mainstream even though we hardly have any in North America. Today we're going back to Sam's favorite cat cafe. Yes, the Koyangi Cafe (고양이 카페). Yeah.
It's like what? It is like no it is not caviar it is just chicken. Only chicken not caviar. Chicken or the sea. Not prime cuts of tuna.
So our drinks have arrived and they are the cutest things ever. Look over here. They drew cats. Cat art. Isn't that amazing? It is a kitty cat in a cup. Look at that.
Yeah, so I got the iced chocolate and Sam got some kind of green tea. Yeah, mine was a green tea latte. Yeah, and the way it works to get in here is basically you purchase your drink and then you get to play with the cats. So the drinks were eight thousand Won which is about seven US dollars but I mean it is pricey for a drink but it gives you access to like 15 to 20 cats. Yeah, think of how many cats you get to pet. Yeah, so I'd say that is a bargain.
So I almost feel guilty drinking mine you know with that cute cat face and all but I am hot and thirsty so.
Is the art still there? Or is it slowly vanishing. It is really really good. Wow.
Really strong green tea taste but almost equally as sugary. Is it creamy? Creamy, sugary and very potent green tea taste. It is a really nice latte.
Making some new friends over there?
No, he is not interested. How about this one?
It looks like your kitty Tommy at home. Huh? Yeah, we're calling this one Tommy because it is like my Siamese. Tommy?
Tommy Gato.
Tomcat.
You will feed me. I'm cute. And I'm hungry. I'm cute and I'm hungry too.
Nom, nom, nom.
Did you get enough cat love?
Well, I can never get enough cat love but I mean that was a fantastic afternoon on a hot summer day here in Seoul. There is nothing better to go to an air conditioned room and play around with cats. If you're somebody who likes cats as much as we do.
