So here’s the 411 on Instagram's new features. Aside from their whole Instagram stories thing which everyone is comparing to Snapchat and having panic attacks over, IG has also debuted 2 new features that they’re currently only offering to high profile peeps- Like Kylie- and that is the option to filter people’s comments on your posts or to remove comments altogether. For example Chrissy Teigen is now banning any comments with the words Trump, whore, or cleanse. But Kylie is banning ALL comments! ALL of them! A very dramatic move! Why? Is it the trolls? The haters? Was she impacted by all the snake emojis that flooded Taylor Swift’s social media accounts recently? No. Her reason is simple. As she explained on Twitter: “So I'm trying out disabling my comments on Instagram because I'm done w people self promoting & the "LB"s” aka the “I liked your picture, please like me back!” There’s only space for one girl to self promote on Kylie’s page, and that’s Kylie. I get it though. Imagine if every time you posted- you were flooded with comments where either people are bashing you or obsessively demanding that you follow them? That’s draining! I mean, by first world standards. It’s not surviving a refugee camp in Greece- draining. But draining by, She’s a multi millionaire celebrity who’s never pumped her own gas draining so this is really hard on her. What are your thoughts? Do YOU want to disable comments on your accounts?
