Lady Gaga & Harry Styles Named CO-CHAIRS Of 2019 MET Gala

Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Anna Wintour and Serena Williams have been announced as the 2019 Met Gala chairs.
As we can recall, last year Rihanna was the chair and dressed like a pope.
And with Lady Gaga making waves with her new movie, A Star is Born, making her a Met Gala co-chair seems like an obvious choice. She has always expressed herself with over-the-top fashion. Her peculiar fashion choices early on in her career always made a statement. Harry Styles recently became the face of Gucci and Serena Williams launched her own fashion line.
Regarding the theme, it was revealed that This year’s theme is “Camp: Notes on Fashion”. But before we all think celebrities will be dressing up like tents, let’s dive into the concept a bit.
This will be a riff on Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay “Notes on Camp” and will give a contemporary significance to Sontag’s perspective. It will delve into the love for the unnatural and exaggeration. This year’s Met Gala will be on May 6th and The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute’s Spring 2019 exhibit will be showcased from May 9th-September 2019.
