Lauren Jauregui Joins Halsey For A SURPRISE Performance Of "Strangers" On Today Show

Halsey, blue haired and supremely focused, started off the song on stage alone, singing the first verse solo with her back to an empty microphone. THEY her musical collaborator Lauren Jauregui strutted on stage, her fierce white shawl flowy thing fluttering around her to join Halsey for the chorus. (0:44-48)
Obvi, the crowd erupted and the two incredible artists sang their hearts out. You can see how close they are and how proud Halsey is of their collaboration because of her huge giddy smile and their adorable hug at the end of the performance. (3:35-3:42)
Fans was gaga over the performance, with many of them announcing that they had gotten up early JUST to catch her performance on the show.
Not everybody was so enthralled with the performance however. “Strangers” is unapologetically about two women longing for each other, and Halsey has been out as bisexual for the entirety of her career. Lauren came out as bisexual in an open letter after Donald Trump’s election last November.
One disgruntled tweeter said, QUOTE “your performance on the plaza was not appropriate for anyone to watch especially young girls.”
To which the inimitable Halsey responded:
“You're right. It was so inappropriate of them to just watch. They should be singing along! LOUD!
