Red Nose Day Actually is the short film sequel to the 2003 classic Love Actually, and the trailer is finally out ! The trailer starts off like the movie, with a voiceover from Hugh Grant while e’re given a heartwarming recap of the original, and then a hilarious glimpse into where they are all now.
And I mean ALL of them because basically everyone’s in it! Keira Knightely, Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Andrew Lincoln, Laura Linney and Liam Neeson are all back! Bill Nighy as Billy Mack returns of course, replete with a risqué joke about the Kardashians.
Naughty, naughty Nighy!
Unfortunately absent will be Alan Rickman, who died in 2016, and Emma Thompson, who decided not to participate due to Rickman’s death. Joining the cast, however, is none other than Dr. McDreamy, Patrick Dempsey. According to Varierty, he has a scene with Laura Linney – and I didn’t see her Brazilian lover Rodrigo Santoro anywhere in the trailer, so maybe it’s a looooove scene.
Clearly and adorably, Hugh Grant and Martine McCutcheon stay together since she is there to lovingly remind him that his iconic stairway dance might be hazard to his health.
The 15-minute movie will air as a part of NBC’s fundraiser Red Nose Day on May 25. Red Nose Day is an offshoot of Comic Relief, which was founded more than 30 years ago by Love Actually‘s (and Red Nose Actually’s) writer-director Richard Curtis. The organization has raised more than a billion dollars to help fight poverty and address social issues around the world. Money for a good cause and we get a sequel to Love Actually? Thanks, NBC!
Who do you think Patrick Dempsey’s gonna play? Who will Keira Knightely picl? So many things I want to know, but I also want to know what your predictions are so sound off in the comments below before checking out the Stranger Things Season 2 spoilers right over here!
