13 Reasons Why Adds 7 NEW Actors To S2 & Will Clay Get New Love Interest?

13 Reasons Why is currently deep into filming their season 2, and star Dylan Minnette is sharing some major deets about the highly anticipated season and what fans can expect to see go down. After all, there should be tons to explore, considering Hannah’s mom and dad now know the truth about Hannah’s tapes, and we should probably hear the other side of each character’s story from season 1. In an interview with Us Weekly, Dylan revealed that the second season will take place a few months after the events of the season 1 finale, telling the mag QUOTE “there’s a lot of catch up to play, and I think people might be a little surprised where Clay is.”
Surprised? Maybe we’ll be re-introduced to a revived, happier Clay… with a girlfriend? Dylan told the magazine QUOTE “I don’t know if there’s a new love interest, we’ll just have to wait to see.”
Yeah. Sounds like there’s a new love interest.
And we can definitely speculate who that will be now that the show has added multiple actors to the cast list to take on a variety of characters for the sophomore season. The official twitter account the show dropped the new cast info via Variety, tweeting “New faces. New Stories. New Secrets.” Among the additions are Samantha Logan, who was previously on Freeform’s The Fosters and MTV’s Teen Wolf. Samantha will play Nina, a likeable, trackstar, respected by her peers, who’s also holding on to a major secret. The new ‘it girl,’ Chloe, will be played by Anne Winters, also previously on The Fosters, and Disney Channel’s Liv and Maddie. Then we’ve got Mackenzie, played by Chelsea Alden, and her brother, Cyrus, another new character that’s sure to stir up some trouble, played by Bryce Cass.
So when it comes to new storylines, clearly the possibilities are endless. How many of these characters also knew Hannah, and what secret do they have?
It won’t be long until we get to know them and see all of our favorites return for season 2, which will once again be executive produced by Selena Gomez. Dylan told Us Weekly QUOTE “Selena has a lot going on in her life. And I think she’s very, very busy. She kinds of trusts the people who are on set making it with just about everything, and I’m sure she’ll visit soon.”
