Civil society groups gathered in Malaysia and Singapore last night, in solidarity against the execution of Malaysians Nagaenthran Dharmalingam and Datchinamurthy Kataiah on April 27 and 29, respectively.
Nagaenthran, who is mentally impaired, will be executed tomorrow morning after he was put on death row for more than a decade for trafficking about 42.7g of heroin into Singapore.
The open mic sessions in Petaling Jaya organised by the Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network saw about 40 people in attendance, while it was livestreamed on Facebook jointly with the concurrent vigil at Hong Lim Park in Singapore.
