MCA president Wee Ka Siong said the party respects the decisions of the people in the general election and will stay as the opposition.

The elected Ayer Hitam MP stressed that BN has lost favour to form the government as the coalition has lost the people's mandate.

"BN only has 30 seats, we don't have the capitals to form a government, therefore, we need to accept the people's decision."

When asked whether MCA will consider supporting a minority government through a confidence and supply agreement (CSA), Wee said "Too early (to discuss). Whatever is good for the country, we will just do it."
