As promised, Miley Cyrus came through last night, premiering the track list, along with the title track for her new album, called Younger Now, so prepare for pure and utter nostalgia.
And without warning, Miley came in like a wrecking ball, premiering the music video for “Younger Now”, so we need to talk about these Elvis vibes, because I’m LIVING.
Miley Cyrus is channeling her country roots and inner youth in her brand new single and music video for “Younger Now”, which pays homage to one of her biggest musical inspirations, Elvis Presley, and I can’t decide what I love more in this video between the outfits, the dancing, or just the all-around theme centered around Elvis’ music videos.
Speaking of which, the video was released conveniently on the 40th anniversary week of Presley’s death, to which Miley pays tribute to one of his most iconic music videos for “Wooden Heart” as seen in the scenes featuring her hanging out with a fellow cowgirl puppet. Check it out:
And can we just take a second to talk about these intricately beaded Elvis-inspired outfits?! Miley pays tribute to the late singer in the most perfect way possible, with everything from her hairstyle and that baby blue beaded jumpsuit, down to the ‘50s-inspired dance moves.
PS – also loving the message of the video and the fact that these elderly people she used have better dance moves than me… just saying. But as far as the album goes, which was produced by “Adore You” hitmaker Oren Yoel, the entire 11-track list was also revealed on the album’s cover art last night, featuring some songs to name a few, called “Week Without You”, “Thinkin’”, “Bad Mood” and a duet with none other than Miley’s godmother Dolly Parton called “Rainbowland.”
Miley also opened up about how this track first came to fruition to Billboard back in May, revealing that it was her mother that sparked the light bulb moment. She said, QUOTE, “She was like, ‘I swear to God, you are younger now at 24 than you were at 4!’ And so it just hit me, like I am f—ing younger now, and I am proud of that.” She went to say that, “I just think for girls to celebrate being young right now would be a great thing.”
I couldn’t agree more with that statement, as you can clearly see the shenanigans we do here on a daily basis that keep us feeling like kids at heart! But right now I want to know all your thoughts on Miley’s new single and the music video, so get to talking down here in the comments, and after that, be sure to click right over here to check out more new music by Justin Bieber. Thanks for hanging with me here on Clevver News, I’m your girl Joslyn Davis and go out and channel your inner kid this weekend!
