Ladies and gentlemen, the day has finally come. Miley Cyrus has RENOUNCED twerking!
Yes, believe it or not, MC is so OVER the provocative dance that she made famous thanks to her controversial 2013 MTV VMAs performance, and Clevver has all the details.
So, what exactly is causing this sudden change of heart? Well, she’s trying to get ANOTHER dance to take off! Miley’s Bangerz tour is currently down under, and she stopped by the Australian morning show Sunrise on Friday where she talked all about the NAE NAE.
When the interviewer brought up twerking, he told her it seems quote “so yesterday” and she told him she was glad he pointed that out and that some people are living in the past. He then asked her to show him the new craze, and well:

Now, in case you want a little background on the Nae Nae, it was first made popular by Atlanta based group We Are Toonz thanks to their song “Drop That Nae Nae.” I don’t know what a Nae Nae is, or why you’d need to drop one, but I think I kind of like it.
So I guess it’s time to say RIP to twerking. Goodbye old friend, we hardly knew, ye.
