Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Katy Perry Friendship & Blames Twerking Phase On Her Dad

Miley’s back and she’s sharing more than just her latest single with the world...
While promoting her new song Malibu, Miley’s been revealing some major OMG facts we didn’t know about her...like the fact that Katy Perry’s breakout hit “I Kissed a Girl” was supposedly inspired by her!
During an interview with radio station WKTU, Miley talked about being friends with Katy for over a decade. Miley said of the friendship QUOTE, "Katy Perry, she’s been a friend of mine for a really long time...We were actually just realizing the other day that next year, we'll have been friends for 10 years. I think that's my friend that I've known the longest, which is really, really weird!"
And according to Miley, the two became friends after Katy admitted on the radio that she wrote her 2008 hit "I Kissed a Girl" about Miley. Miley explained QUOTE, "When she came out with 'I Kissed a Girl,' I was doing the Hannah Montana movie, and I heard her on the radio...They said, 'Who did you write that about?' She said me!...I heard it and I screamed, and started freaking out."
Katy then went on to invite Miley to the VMAs that year, where the two infamously posed on the red carpet together. And thus, that’s when a beautiful decade-long friendship began.
Miley also recently did an interview with the Zach Sang show, where she was asked about whether or not she’d do a Hannah Montana reboot. Unfortunately she shut that possibility down, but gave a very good explanation as to why she wouldn’t be interested in reprising the role. She explained QUOTE, “'Probably not...I didn’t get a school escape like most people. I went to work with my dad...That was really hard, every day from like 11 to 18...And then I started driving my dad towards the end because I could start driving, and then my grandma went with me.”
Miley also went on to add that all those years spent with her dad and grandma were to blame for her infamous twerking days, explaining QUOTE, “...So that was a lot of time spent, dad and grandma, which is why when I turned 18, you wondered why I was twerking at the Juicy J show. I just spent 10 years everyday with my dad and grandma. I had to break free”.
Obviously Miley’s come a long way from her days of licking sledgehammers and riding wrecking balls, as evidenced by her laid back acoustic performance of Malibu on Elvis Duran’s morning show…
Not gonna lie, I kinda miss the nipple pasties.
