After much speculation, Nicki Minaj has officially confirmed that she is a single woman again.
The love story between Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill has come to an end.
After dating for a year and some change, the era of Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill is no longer. Rumors have been swirling for weeks but Nicki put an end to the speculation yesterday tweeting - "To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon.” Some would say the love affair lasted longer than expected, especially after it survived Meek’s countless diss tracks and social media beefs. Meek even gave Nicki two very well endowed diamond rings throughout their relationship and said that the third would be an engagement ring, but I guess now we’ll never know.
When Nicki last appeared on Ellen, she revealed that she used to be a lot more secretive with her relationships saying QUOTE – “I used to be secretive...I used to say, 'I'm not in a relationship,' even though I was in a 12-year relationship. Now I feel like just going back to that and saying, 'You know what? I'm single.” So technically this could mean that Nicki and Meek aren’t actually over, but I wouldn’t hold your breath.
Good for Nicki for knowing what’s best for her and for taking time to focus on her business. She’s always been an advocate for being a lady boss. Back in November she told Marie Claire QUOTE - "Nowadays, I feel like [young women] see marrying into money—I think that's a big thing now. I don't want that to be a woman's goal in life. I want your goal in life to be to become an entrepreneur, a rich woman, a career-driven woman. You have to be able to know that you need no man on this planet at all, period. He should feel that, because when a man feels that you need him, he acts differently." Wise words, but I want to hear what you guys think about Meek and Nicki calling it quits.
