Nicki covers the January issue of Rolling Stone and talks female empowerment, being a perfectionist, and speaks out candidly about having an abortion.
In the issue Nicki talks about the pressure she faced to get her 15 minute Pinkprint movie youtube ready in time saying QUOTE – “I do everything myself. I’ve gone over all the shots. Now, when it comes time to retouch and do color correction, those are little things that can turn into big things if they’re not done properly, so I oversee i too. I would save so much time if I didn’t care about things like that. but I do.”
Nicki goes on to discuss her sexy public image and debunks those who think being unfiltered with your body is synonymous with being brainless saying QUOTE - -“With a video like ‘Anaconda,’ I’m a grown ass fucking woman! I stand for girls wanting to be sexy and dance, but also having a strong sense of themselves. If you got a big ol’ butt? Shake it! Who cares? That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be graduating from college.”
She then goes more in depth and personal talking about the abortion she raps about in “All Things Go.” Nicki says that the abortion has “haunted me all my life.”
Upon discovering she was pregnant Nicki says QUOTE - “I thought I was going to die. I was a teenager. It was the hardest thing I’d ever gone through. It’d be contradictory if I said I wasn’t pro-choice. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t have anything to offer a child.”
Nicki gets very personal in the interview but on a lighter note, let’s talk about that cover! Nicki is keeping with her quote “grown ass woman” stance wearing an extremely low tank top with no bra while rocking a gorgeous fresh faced look.
