It’s just so darn hard to say goodbye, but Nina said it in the best way possible.
Sure, the actress had some time to perfect her goodbye speech, but her latest and final one to TVD has to be the hardest one to read. As the cast of the Vampire Diaries got together for the big wrap party over the weekend, the actress gifted her longtime cast members and good friends a sentimental little something and the show’s fans with a goodbye they’ll never forget.
In an Instagram post, Nina shared a snapshot of the key necklaces she gave the cast and aired out all of her feelings in a lengthy message. Nina said in her goodbye message QUOTE, “Dearest TVD family, it feels like it was just yesterday that I was saying goodbye. And yet two years have passed and here we are again. This is my true final goodbye, as today I shot my last scene of the Vampire Diaries forever. Coming back for the series finale has been a whirlwind of emotion, nostalgia, love, tears of joy, and bittersweet endings. It feels like the beautiful closure we all needed, myself included, and I couldn’t have been happier to come home to be with my TVD set family and friends. I feel the fans family will also be happy with the show’s conclusion when they tune in to watch the last episode air in a few short weeks.”
The actress continued on to thank every single fan and crew member for their dedication, passion, and support over the years, from the bottom of her heart. Nina signed off by saying, “Thank you for all your hard work, friendship and love. You have touched my heart in ways you will never know. Sending looch smooches, Love, Katherine, Amara, Tatia, and of course, Elena Gilbert.”
I’ll give you all a minute to gather your emotions and wipe your tears because there’s more TVD news to cover! For a while now fans knew to expect a few other familiar faces to return for the final season, but it looks like we can add a couple more oldies but goodies to the list.
Steven R. McQueen, who plays Elena’s little brother Jeremy, could possibly make an appearance in the series finale. The actor teased fans on Friday when he shared a selfie of himself in front of a Mystic Falls medical transportation bus and wrote QUOTE, “Saying hi to some old friends.” Hopefully saying hi includes more than just stopping by to chit chat with the cast.
And another familiar face returning to the show is none other than Chris Wood aka Kai Parker. In a series of photos released by The CW from the episode that airs on February 17th, we see Kai coming back to Mystic Falls to probably stir up some more trouble. After all, he did put Elena into that magical coma – who knows what else this guy is capable of.
