Normani Kordei Quits Twitter After Racially Charged Cyberbullying

Fifth Harmony’s Normani Kordei has announced that she is quitting Twitter after being intensely cyber bullied with horrific, racially charged posts.
After being unfairly victimized on Twitter, Normani has had enough.
Last week, Normani took to social media to defend herself after being accused of starting drama behind the scenes of Fifth Harmony’s tour and breaking up the group, but now she has decided to quit Twitter all together after being cyberbullied with hateful racially charged tweets. Before saying goodbye to the Twittersphere, she posted detailing her motives behind leaving saying QUOTE - “Over the past four years of being in the public eye I’ve learned to grow a thick skin to critics and those who may not like me. I’ve never been one to deny anyone of their opinions, but over the course of this last week and especially over the last 48 hours I’ve not just been cyber bullied, I’ve been racially cyberbullied with tweets and pictures so horrific and racially charged that I can’t subject myself any longer to the hate. I’m not the first black female celebrity to deal with this and I’m sure I won’t be the last.”
In the wake of an extremely upsetting situation, Normani still managed to stay positive writing QUOTE – “I want to take this moment to say Love goes much further than hate in this world. Hiding behind a computer and putting people down, especially for the color of their skin doesn’t make you cool, it makes you a coward! I have nothing but love for everyone, even my haters, and I hope I can lead by example. I also want to thank Twitter for immediately jumping into action when they were alerted to the situation. I love you all!” Upon hearing about Normani’s Twitter exit, several celebs came to her defense to show their support. Becky G tweeted - “You’re so strong. You’re right, love does go farther than hate in this. If only everyone saw it that way. Much love xo.” Fellow Fifth Harmony member, Camila Cabello said QUOTE - “You don’t have to hate on somebody else to support me- I don’t appreciate it and it’s not what I’m about.. Be kind or move on.” Keke Palmer also came to Normani’s defense by posting a photo of Normani on her instagram along with a message of support saying QUOTE – “You are such a beautiful girl Normani, what others say about you is a reflection of them NOT you.” She went on to say, “…me & the kids all love you, just wanna remind u!”
Just last month, Ghostbusters star, Leslie Jones was also subjected to racially charged Twitter hate which ultimately led to her leaving the social media site as well. But thankfully she was able make a triumphant return weeks later. I just have to say that It’s awful that people are being bullied to the point of having to quit something that is meant to be fun. Cyberbullying is bad enough and the fact that these are racially charged incidents is so not cool, spread love you guys.
