Don’t worry Harmonizers, Normani’s not going anywhere, so let’s just sit back, relax and watch her work her magic.
It may have only been one month since Normani Kordei dropped a stunning mashup cover of Drake’s “Fake Love” and “Sneakin’”, but she left Harmonizers wanting more after the cover hit the interwebs like a ton of bricks. Thankfully, Normani is back at it as she just dropped a brand new mashup, this time taking a more soulful approach to Solange’s newest tracks, “Cranes in the Sky” and “Don’t Touch My Hair”. SO PREPARE TO MELT INTO A PUDDLE OF euphoria.
THAT VOICE. THOSE RUNS. THOSE HIGH NOTES. She is definitely making Solange proud here, but there was more to covering those songs than just messing around in the studio. Normani talked about the significance Solange’s tracks have on her, telling USA Today QUOTE, “I was inspired by Solange's album, A Seat at the Table, from the moment that I heard it. She has clearly taken the time to create a unique body of work and emote through her music from a true place.”
But before any speculations arise from Normani’s recent covers, NO she is not abandoning her squad, and YES she is still very much looking forward to what this year has in store for Fifth Harmony. She also revealed that she’s plotting a ‘prosperous’ year, QUOTE, “not only regarding Fifth Harmony and this new chapter together but also my own personal endeavors in and outside of music.”
I don’t know about you guys, but Normani in 5H AND solo Normani equals DOUBLE Normani, so let’s enjoy it!
