Olivia Munn hosted the 2018 Critics’ Choice Awards last night and was sure to take a moment to point out prevalent pay inequality between men and women in Hollywood.
You may have heard that for the reshoots of a film called All the Money in the World, Mark Wahlberg was paid 1 million dollars while his co-star Michelle Williams was paid a measly 1,000. To make matters even more unfair, Michelle and Mark are repped by the same agency.
During a bit with Niecy Nash last night, Olivia made a toast to all the good guys in Hollywood by raising a glass to QUOTE - “that studio executive who had me meet him in the hotel conference room instead of his actual hotel room, that famous actor who didn’t treat me like crap after I said I didn’t want to get drinks with him after the show.” Niecey then attempted to thank all the men who spoke up about the TimesUp movement at the Golden Globes to which Olivia joked - “Actually, they didn’t really say much there.” Then came the bit about Mark Wahlberg. Olivia said QUOTE - “I do want to say thank you to the producers for paying Niecy and I the same amount of money and Mark Wahlberg $1 million. He took a pay cut, so that’s really nice and generous of him. Thank you so much.” Oh the sweet smell of sarcasm in the morning. Say what you want about the joke, but you can’t argue with the facts.
