Perrie Edwards HARASSED By Fans On Social Media After Zayn & Gigi's Breakup

You’ve probably heard by now that power couple Zigi, AKA Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid, announced their breakup after just two years together. The split reportedly happened earlier this month, and both stars took to social media yesterday to confirm the breakup. Zayn wrote in part QUOTE, “...we wish this news could have come from us first.” Meanwhile Gigi Tweeted QUOTE, “Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years.”
Zayn shared his gratitude for fans respecting their privacy, but that didn’t last long at all. Some flooded their accounts with questions about why the breakup had happened, because many thought they were still super in love, and there were even rumors that they were engaged.
While many fans wanted answers, others took to Twitter to share memes about karma, claiming that Zayn had this coming to him after he dumped fiance Perrie Edwards over a text in 2015.
After Zayn and Perrie’s big split, Perrie shared that she had a very difficult time with the surprise breakup, revealing QUOTE, “I was crying every day...It was horrible, the worst time in my life. A four-year relationship, two year engagement ended by a simple text message. Just like that. Even though things in my career were going really well, it was incredibly difficult for me."
That was almost three years ago, but some of Perrie’s fans are clearly still not over it, even if she is. Thus, the Tweets and Instagram comments also came for Perrie yesterday. Many suggested that the Little Mix singer get back together with Zayn, while others asked if she’s happy that Zigi is no more. And then there were people who actually tried to BLAME Perrie for Gigi and Zayn breaking up. WTF, people?!
For the record, guys, Perrie is currently dating a very hot British soccer player, and she got over Zayn a loooong time ago. Seriously did none of you listen to “Shout Out to My Ex”? There is no way in hell this not gonna turn into a Jelena-reunion type of situation.
One WISE Twitter user wrote of all the drama QUOTE, “people are really out there.sending hate to perrie..because zayn and gigi broke up..where’s the correlation? she had absolutely NOTHING to do with their relationship and she hasn’t been in contact with neither of them. she’s in a loving relationship with someone and has moved on.”
BOOM. Case closed. Seriously. I know it’s a confusing time and people are all on different sides over this break up, with some calling it karma and others calling it a second chance for Perrie and Zayn, but keep in mind that Zayn, Gigi, and Perrie are all human beings with feelings and they all deserve to live their lives without all this crazy online harassment. I’m sure in due time we’ll find out the reason for the breakup, if there is one besides busy work schedules and the pair growing apart, but in the meantime let’s just share the love, internet! I for one am going to do that by cyber stalking Perrie’s current boyfriend, because DAMN THIS GUY IS HOT. Nice job, Perrie.
