PROJECT OVERKILL 2020 (PT 2) ADRC SMOKE KIT & UPGRADED ELECTRONICS - NEW TRUCK BUILD | RC ADVENTURES

Today I fulfill a request that many novice and intermediate hobbyists have asked me about. Smoke Kits and Electronics. Since I am building a New 'PROJECT OVERKILL" 4x4 GMC TopKick 1/10th scale radio controlled 4x4 trail truck - I think this is a great opportunity to approach this as easily as possible. I have it all hooked up, and laid out on a nice white background for you to easily identify and easily understand what you are looking at.
The ESC I have chosen is the Hobbywing XeRun AXE with FOC. It is a waterproof, brushless, sensored esc.. and can take up to a 3s lipo battery.
The Motor upgrade was a no brainer for me.. as OVERKILL should have more than enough power to go through mud and difficult terrain. Today, I show you a 550 can size motor, that is a 2700kv brushless installed on a beautiful SUPERSHAFTY transmission. These things are brilliant.. and yes, very F****** expensive!! But.. this is what it takes to build a BULLET PROOF Tough Truck. The 13.8 wheel base on this GMC Top Kick will make it a climbing machine with all that torque.
Also .. I wanted to show you the smoke kit option that is available. I purchased the ADRC smoke kit from an online store for about 49$ USD. It is not the normal smoke kit that I would use in this application.. but it seems slightly more practical. The only thing I dont like about it.. is there are many areas for the "oil" to escape..and it could be a messy process. I will have to consider moving it to an "open" area of the chassis so I dont get everything covered in oil during a roll over. The good thing is.. It can be easily removed, or bypassed if I dont want to use it.
