The Truck: Traction RC "Cragsman" 1/8th Scale w/ Wheel Weights
The Winch: RC4WD 1/10th Scale Warn" 8274
The Challenge: Deadlift a Total of 100 Scale Vertical Feet (10') (Full Extension of Winch Cable)
Truck Weight: 13.8lbs
Battery: 5000mah 11.1v 3s Lipo
Heat After Completed Climb: Negligible
I have often wondered the ability of these new "expensive" little pieces of machinery.. and in no way do I want to break mine. But I am curious.. if my 14lb RC Truck was stuck in mud.. would this winch help pull it out with actual power? Well todays test should tell me.
I am dead lifting my "Traction Hobby 1/8th Scale Cragsman JEEP" () with an RC4WD winch that I have been using for close to a year, or more. I have never really tested it's power.. and after recently adding wheel weights to my jeep - I think a test is in order.
I have strung 10' of 100lb Fishing Line to the Winch. It looks like a cable, and is certainly very strong. I think a wireless dead lift test of this truck - at full winch line extension - is an excellent test. As the winch is 1/10th scale in size, I will multiply the 10' Lift by 10.. to get 100' scale vertical climb.
