The 2015 Met Gala took place in New York City last night, but let’s face it: we’re really only here to talk about the massive fashion game that went down between many of Hollywood’s biggest names.
Yeah, that’s right guys, as many of you, including myself, really don’t even know what the MET Gala is or what the celebs do at it, all we do know is that they bring their biggest fashion A-Game to the event every year, wearing some of the biggest names, and in the case of Rihanna who I’m going to break down first, wearing some of the biggest gowns…
Yeah, the entire red carpet may as well cleared out for Bad Girl RiRi last night because she made her appearance with FOUR train handlers (THAT’S FOUR, you guys!!!) in a yellow Guo Pei robe with fur trimming, paired with a crystal-embellished head piece, Cartier jewelry and Christian Louboutin heels. SLAY GIRL. But while we’re still not sure if there was even anything underneath the robe, wellllll, it wouldn’t surprise us if RiRi decided to leave the rest at home…
Now, I should mention that Rihanna is not one to mesh in with the crowd, as you do recall her bright pink 2015 Grammy dress that was compared to all sorts of household items, like a loofa, a dust mop, an umbrella and even Sia’s wig. And thanks to the Internet and their RAD comparisons on Rihanna’s Met Gala gown, I am now hungry.
Why, you ask? Social media decided to compare RiRi’s dress to a few household kitchen items, such as a pepperoni pizza, a cracked egg, a pepperoni pizza, a banana and my personal favorite, an entire scrambled egg special, complete with toast and bacon. You guys are pretty creative, I must say…
But enough about the food, because Beyonce’s dress, on the other hand, had me thinkin twice about puttin down that pizza and three times about mayyyybe starting to get summer body ready… Yeah, the queen made her grand entrance with her hubby Jay-Z by her side (and very fashionably late, but who cares, cause BEYONCE) covered in enough jewels to cover only her private areas… but again, WHO CARES BECAUSE BEYONCE. She wore a glittery Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy with a high ponytail that pretty much gave the old Met Gala people a heart attack. Oh, but then there’s the back…
That’s it. RIP me. I’m a corpse. Yonce left very little to the imagination but I think I’m most envious of the fact that she literally rocked this dress so effortlessly, and didn’t even seem worried about a possible nip slip or any other type of slip for that matter. All hail the queen you guys.
