Did Riri shade Beyonce over a grammy snub? Not so fast, Beehive...
Riri recently liked a fan’s Instagram post that claimed she was snubbed by the Grammys in favor of Beyonce, and Queen Bee fans are not happy about it...
The 2017 Grammy nominations were only revealed yesterday, but already fans all over are expressing their frustrations over their favorite artists getting snubbed by the recording academy. One fan of Rihanna took to her Instagram account to complain about the “Work” singer only receiving 8 Grammy noms over Beyonce’s 9 writing QUOTE, “Congrats and all to @badgalriri for her 8 Grammy nods but tbh f*** them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year...I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough*”, followed by a lemon emoji.
The fan went on to say that had the Grammys not “played” Riri, she would have been the lead with the most Grammy nods, and concluded their rant with “F*** u Grammys, ANTI did amazing things this year and y’all played her. I think y’all shook!”
The post would’ve just been one of MANY social media rants from fans complaining about their favorite artists getting snubbed this year, but this one went caught everyone’s attention after Riri personally LIKED it. Naturally it sent Beyonce fans into a frenzy and prompted multiple news outlets to report that Riri was throwing MAJOR shade at Bee. BUT, luckily before anyone could say the word “lemonade”, Rihanna swiftly responded and quashed any rumors of a snub-filled feud brewing between the singers.
Riri responded directly to the fan’s Instagram post, writing QUOTE, “I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along! Til I seen it pop up over and over! I’m petty af, yes. But this is just unnecessary! I wish y’all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture! We don’t need to be putting black women against each other! We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”
Preach, Riri, preach! But also maybe read the caption before you like posts from now on so we can all avoid these crazy rumors in the first place.
