Literally seconds after walking off the Grammy stage for winning record of the year, Adele turned right back around when she ALSO awarded ALBUM of the year up against Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Drake and Sturgill Simpson.
She continued to explain that 5 years ago when she was last at the grammy’s, that she was pregnant and had no idea… She said being awarded that was the biggest blessing of her life, but said in her pregnancy and in becoming a mother she lost a lot of herself, saying she struggles being a mom but said tonight winning the Grammy, feels full circle, like a bit of her has come back to herself which made us all melt into a million pieces… Butttttt you know she couldn’t just live in the moment, rather she spent the majority of her speech celebrating Beyonce, who by the way has NEVER won album of the year…
She went on to say that the album was well thought out and soul bearing. She said Beyonce is our light and thanked bee for making her and her friends feel empowered and capable of standing up for ourselves.
AHHH, all the feels… Beyonce didn’t go home empty handed as she claimed two honors, for music video and urban contemporary album, as Adele took home Album of the year, song of the year, record of the year, best pop vocal album as well as best pop solo performance.
