Riz Ahmed and James Corden went head to head last night for Corden’s “Drop the Mic” segment on The Late Late Show and the actor/rapper did not disappoint. Today’s episode is brought to you by the Un-carrier®. With T-Mobile ONE™, get all unlimited, all in!
(Beatbox) I can’t rap, but Riz Ahmed can.
One of our favorite lines comes shortly after when Corden brought current events into his rap…specifically United Airlines. He rapped, “This is a bloodbath / It’s not a fair fight / It’s like you were overbooked on the United Air flight.” Even though Corden came out swinging, Riz came ready to fight back immediately opening up with "I speak the truth you're a liar / He's like Sean Spicer mixed with a singing Uber driver.” After that drop the mic moment, he then goes on to critique his hosting and success in the states.
As the battle continued, Corden continued to take digs at Ahmed’s acting and rap career highlighting the fact that he just played for teenagers at Coachella, Girls was ended, and he was in Jason Bourne, but no one knew his identity. At this point it might have been too late because Ahmed had a major drop the mic moment just 30 seconds earlier that left Corden speechless.
There were many more moments that had us cracking up, but after it was all said and done, Riz Ahmed was declared the winner. We love this segment and can’t wait to see the spin-off show hosted by Method Man and Hailey Baldwin when it launches on TBS May 2.
