To say that Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift had a killer year would be a huge understatement. The former Disney Channel star released FOUR singles including the hit-song Bad Liar and revealed that over the summer she received a life-saving kidney transplant from her BFF Francia Raisa. If that wasn’t enough, she also made her return to the stage by performing her newest song Wolves at the American Music Awards.
Tay somehow had an even bigger year although she only came out of hiding in August. Her brand new album Reputation has broken all kinds of records and is setting to be one of the biggest eras of her career yet.
Although the two have had so much going on in their lives, they’ve kept their sight on what really matters - true friendship. These musical powerhouses first met when they were both dating a Jonas Brother, and while their relationships didn’t last, they formed an incredible bond. In a recent radio interview, Selena praised Taylor by saying that she has been QUOTE “a fighter, a warrior, a friend through all of this” and showed off her love for Tay by posting the SWEETEST message in honor of her birthday.
We love getting an inside look at this famous friendship, and the caption makes it even better. Sel wrote QUOTE “I’m glad you were born. You write all the thoughts some aren’t able to articulate. (ME!) Thank you for giving a voice to this world that is authentic and inspiring. I wish some knew how big your heart actually is.. it’s fierce, bold and freaking wild with light. I’m glad you protect that. Love you.”
Honestly, how sweet is that? We love this friendship and are crossing our fingers that 2018 will be the year that we FINALLY get a collab from the two of them.
