Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez who used to flaunt their friendship everywhere have been more low-key about their friendship and personal lives recently. But over the weekend they showed us that they are still BFFs and I’m so here for it.
What’s up? It’s Emile Ennis Jr. here with Clevver News and over the weekend, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez had a cute friendship moment on Instagram and it was the sweetest thing I’ve seen all week.
If you’re a fan of Taylor and Selena’s friendship, you probably know that these two are way more private now than they once were. They used to be dancing together at every award show, appearing in each other’s music videos, and coming out at each other’s concerts. But as of more recently, their friendship, much like their other relationships, has been more private. It even had some fans wondering if they had a falling out, but based on Selena’s IG story post, these two are still thick as thieves.
If you’ve been following Selena this summer, you know she’s been taking time for herself, vacationing in Italy and relaxing with friends. All while Taylor has been on the roller coaster ride of releasing her latest album, Lover. And over the weekend Selena posted about Lover for the first time since it came out. She hopped on Instagram stories to praise her bestie on the release of Lover saying quote, “You're just… unreal dude @taylorswift” with a screenshot of the title track.
Taylor reposted Selena’s story and added quote, “I love you Selena.”
And then my heart burst into a million pieces because I love Taylor and Selena’s friendship so much and seeing this back and forth was literally the highlight of my weekend. Ok, let’s say one of the highlights because I had a pretty fantastic weekend. But Selena isn’t the only celeb who’s been gushing over Taylor’s new album. Taylor has been getting a lot of positive feedback and support from many other artists and of course, her fans.
Just last week, Demi Lovato showed her support for Taylor, writing her a special message on Instagram. This was a big deal because a lot of people thought there was some beef between Demi and Taylor after Demi didn’t attend the VMAs. On the night of the VMA’s Demi wrote on her story that she quote, “didn’t attend the VMA’s for a reason” and many people speculated that it was because she recently signed with Scooter Braun and may now have some beef with Taylor.
But Demi squashed that beef when she posted a screenshot of Taylor’s song Cruel Summer, and wrote on her story saying quote, “Life's too short for women to not support other women. Especially when women release great music. Great job @taylorswift.”
And Taylor also reposted Demi’s message writing quote, "This is so awesome & put the biggest smile on my face. Thank you @ddlovato."
But celebs weren’t just writing how obsessed they are with the album on social media. Keith Urban actually covered Taylor's song "Lover" during a recent concert. I mean that is probably the highest form of flattery and artist can give another artist.
Keith posted a video of the cover on his Instagram and wrote quote, “Every now and then you hear a song that you love and wish you’d written.... and a HUGE thx to my band as well- we didn’t get to rehearse so.... this is us fully winging it - KU #Lover @taylorswift.”
And fans are LOVING this cover and are heading to the comments section asking for a collab. One person wrote quote, “Woohoo Keith Urban!! Next, you should sing it with Taylor!!
