What in the world is going on with Selena Gomez's Instagram account?! Is it Armageddon and nobody told me?! Why else would baby girl unfollow everyone? Let's backtrack for a sec. Sel, as yall know, is going through an interesting time in her life. And by interesting, I secretly mean, a difficult time. She just parted ways with her parents as managers, she's back on with Justin Bieber, she went to rehab just a few months ago, and even though she spent the weekend at Coachella music fest partying it up with the likes of the Jenner sisters... things are getting complex in the social media world of Selena Gomez, which these days is almost more important than the physical world. Sel unfollowed the Jenner sisters recently. Even though she is.. or WAS besties with them. She then unfollowed taylor Swift. Then... and this is the one that begs to be dissected- she unfollowed Justin Bieber?! Que esta pasando? What is happening here? But that's not all. Now she's at 0. As in she's stopped following EVERYONE. What does this symbolize? Let's take a look at that sentence. She is no longer following anyone. Is this a sign that sel is becoming her own leader. Paving her own way. Not succumbing to potential bad influences. One can only hope. Another curious lead here... she posted a review of Mary J Blige's 2007 album Growing Pains, with lyrics to the song Work In Progress. If this isn't a direct clue into the inner workings of Selena Gomez- I don't know what is. The lyrics go: "I got every material thing I could ever need/I got the love from my fans that adore me/and I'm grateful/But my love for myself is lacking a little bit/I can admit that I'm working on me." She's straight up borrowing these lyrics to talk about herself. Her insecurities and unhappiness are fueling her music and her move to delete all her friends from her social media world. But hopefully she can find solace in her legions of fans who've lovingly started the hashtag: Always With You Selena. Unless they're talking about another Selena, but that would be crazy.
