Over the weekend, Selena Gomez unfollowed nearly 300 people on Instagram… but who got cut?
You know you’re famous when people notice you’ve gone on an unfollow spree.
Selena cut back her Insta following to just 37 accounts which include a lot of brands like Puma, Coach, and Louis Vuitton AND her friends such as Francia Raisa, Tay Swift, Amy Schumer and Jessica Alba.
Honestly, there are so many people missing from the list it’s hard to narrow down the most shocking.
She unfollowed Gigi Hadid, and many other friends who she has posted with previously.
She also unfollowed her assistant Theresa Mingus. Vogue reported last year that Selena doesn’t even have the password to her IG, and that Theresa actually manages Sel’s insta…. so maybe the purge was her idea, but if I were Theresa I’d at least keep my own account on that follow list!
The one unfollow that had a lot of people talking was Demi Lovato. After we thought everything was back to good terms with the former besties, why on earth would Selena unfollow?
Well the weird thing is that within 24 hours she commented on one of Demi’s recent photo’s “FIRE” and then Demi liked one of Selena’s posts recently…. so what’s up Selena?
Not only did Sel refresh her feed, but she also changed her profile photo to a picture of her mom, Mandy Teefey, which comes just a few weeks after the two unfollowed each other on IG.
There have been rumors that Mandy and her daughter have had arguments regarding Selena’s rekindled relationship with Justin Bieber. And according to TMZ, before Christmas Mandy checked herself into a hospital due to a stressful conversation about that very relationship.
Despite her profile photo update, she still hasn’t refollowed her mom. But Mandy hasn’t refollowed either. And just to note, Mandy IS still following Demi Lovato and Selena’s ex The Weekend. That’s some mother/daughter drama right there.
Sel also just posted a photo of herself sitting on the front steps of her childhood home in Texas with the caption, “The home I grew up in, from birth to 13... In many ways it very well could have been better than my life today, but I’m grateful for a voice that can enable change today. Even when I don’t know how to do it well or actually want it. I love you Grand Prairie. Thank you.”
