Selena Gomez and The Weeknd’s breakup has gone from pleasant to petty, with Selena now unfollowing The Weeknd on Instagram.
Hours after that photo of Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber locking lips at a hockey rink surfaced, another statement was made. Fans noticed that Selena had unfollowed her ex The Weeknd on Instagram. However, she still doesn’t follow Justin either.
Shortly after fans got wind of Selena’s move, The Weeknd untapped SelGo’s name and unfollowed her back. Abel went a step further and threw some major shade towards Selena via his Instagram story. He posted a video with the song “Wanted You” by Nav playing in the background.
It’s clear that The Weeknd wants Selena to know he’s O-V-E-R over it. The song lyrics include, “Yo, girl, can’t believe I wanted you. No, no, no, no I don’t need you.” It seems like five minutes ago Selena and Abel were cordial following their breakup, with Selena liking one of his photos just 10 days ago. So what the heck happened?! Well, for starters Jelena happened.
But what prompted Selena to unfollow The Weeknd all the sudden? Perhaps it was the news that Abel was seen leaving his ex Bella Hadid’s apartment last week. Sources say Bella hasn’t forgiven The Weeknd for breaking her heart, but he reportedly never stopped loving her. In addition to reconnecting with Bella, The Weeknd had already unfollowed several of Selena’s friends and family including her kidney donor Francia Raisa.
What do you guys think of Selena and The Weeknd’s split going from amicable to ugly?! Tell us below if you think this back and forth will stop or if it’s only the beginning of their feud? As always I’m your host Sinead De Vries and I’ll see ya next time back here on Clevver.
