It’s almost time for MY favorite award show. No not the Emmys, not the Oscars, the MTV Video Music Awards, and the HOTTEST musical couple is nominated for 3 VMAs! Any guesses on who I could be talking about???

What’s up guys, I’m Emile Ennis Jr with Clevver News and you may be asking… Emile, Why are the VMAs your favorite award show?
The drama of course. Year after year it’s so messy. Whether that’s Nicki calling out Miley, 5th Harmony shading Camila, or Kanye interrupting Taylor and starting the feud of the century, the VMAs are always giving us something unexpected.

And this year, it’s giving us four nominations for Shawn and Camila’s track and video “Senorita”. Oh did you forget about it, here’s a quick refresher:

Senorita is up for best collaboration. And they’ve got some tough competition. They’re up against Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus’s Old Town Road, which just tied “Despacito” as the longest-running number 1 on Billboard’s top 100.

The steamy video is also up against Grammy and Oscar-winning “Shallow” by Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and Brandon Urie’’s “Me”, Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s “I don’t Care”, and BTS and Halsey’s “Boy with luv”.

Senorita is also nominated for Best Art Direction, best cinematography, and best choreography.

Some other standout nominations?

Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande who are nominated for 10 awards each – both in the categories for Video of the Year and Song of the Year for “You Need to Calm Down” and “Thank u Next”

And another tough category is going to be “Best New Artist”. This year it’s between Ava Max, H.E.R., Lil Nas X, Lizzo, Rosalia, and Billie Eilish - who scored 9 nominations.
