Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello Attend VMAs SOLO!

While red carpets are for fashion and daring looks, I really only come for the cute couple moments and I’ve gotta say, tonight at the VMA’s was a bit of a disappointment on the love front. Where were my couples y’all?
What’s up? It’s Sinead DeVries here with Clevver News and the VMA’s carpet is my favorite one of the year, but this year was missing a little something.

Like hello, did no one listen to Taylor Swift’s album this weekend?!
Some of our favorite couples and halves of couples were in attendance and were on the carpet but they walked solo.
First up and most notably, Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello who have been on a PDA world tour were both on the carpet but didn’t walk together.
Come on Shawmila, if you can make out in pools in Miami and hold hands on the streets of New York, the very least you can do for us is walk the VMA carpet together if you are both there.
And not only did they not walk the carpet together, but they weren’t even sitting together during the show.
So all the doubters of their relationship can step back up to the plate, because while I was once convinced that these two were in love, now I’m starting to question it again.
Was it all just a publicity stunt to get Senorita to number one?
We may never know.
But I do know that Gigi Hadid showed up solo.
Gigi, who has recently been spotted all over town with the Bachelorette’s Tyler Cameron, walked the VMA carpet hand in hand with her sister Bella Hadid.
And before the carpet there were reports that they would for sure be walking together, like from Reality Steve who said quote, “Don’t know if any other outlet has officially reported it, and I know it’s been talked about and we’ll know in a couple hrs, but I can tell you Tyler will be Gigi’s date to the VMA’s tonight.”
But he ended up going back on his word and wrote quote, “(UPDATE): I misread the info I was given. Tyler will be with Gigi at the VMA afterparty, not attending the show with her. Sorry about that.”
Which is way less exciting. I was really hoping for Tyler and Gigi’s official debut.
Halsey also attended the VMA’s without her boyfriend Yungblood.
They only confirmed their romance back in February of this year, so I was really hoping they would show up together.
Either way Halsey slayed with her rainbow part, but maybe next time she’ll come with her counter part.
And lastly, our girl Taylor Swift obviously didn’t show up with her boyfriend Joe Alwyn because they’ve never officially done a carpet together but I’m not gonna lie…
A small tiny part of me was hoping they would show up together and subtly wear wedding rings or something.
A girl can dream I guess..
