So Thursday’s got you down, or you just can’t seem to find that motivation to keep your New Year’s resolution; Hold that negativity because Sia’s new hit will make you feel, well, Unstoppable.
So you’re probably sitting here completely flabbergasted, thinking, “WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD REJECT A SIA SONG?!” Unfortunately, you heard that correctly, but fortunately for us, Sia has put together an entire album of rejected songs she wrote for other artists, including Rihanna and Adele, but hey, this girl can do no wrong in our eyes, so we’re just glad the songs are getting a second chance, including her newly released track, called “Unstoppable.” Check it out:
So if you’re ever looking for a little nudge to get you going each morning, “Unstoppable” might just be your new mantra. This track is just one of many empowering hits Sia has written for other artists, including Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger,” Katy Perry’s “Roar” and Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song.”
“Unstoppable” is the sixth track released from Sia’s This Is Acting album, due out next Thursday, following the five other recently released tracks, including “Alive,” “Bird Set Free,” “Cheap Thrills,” “One Million Bullets,” and the Kanye West collab “Reaper.”
Sia talked about the rejected songs on the album saying that “One Million Bullets” is her baby but “Bird Set Free” is one song she always had trouble giving away to first Rihanna, and then Adele who cut it, but eventually returned it. She also revealed QUOTE, “I had seller's remorse with 'Bird Set Free' every time it went away and then came back. The truth is that we wrote 'Bird Set Free' for Pitch Perfect 2. They rejected it and took another song of ours called 'Flashlight.' That become a big thing through the movie, but I could not believe they rejected 'Bird Set Free' because to me it was such a big, anthemic, fun, sing-along-in-the-car song."
I don’t know about you guys but I’m still sittin’ here wondering why these artists rejected such powerful songs from a very respected songwriter, but I’m glad Sia is getting the recognition she deserves, so we’ll just have to wait til next week to get the full effect. But I want to know what you guys think about Sia’s newest track “Unstoppable”, so get the conversation going right down here in the comments section and after that, don’t forget to click right over here to check out a few mind-blowing Sia performances of 2015.
