Simon Cowell Suggests One Direction's Hiatus Might Be Forever

No one knows when One Direction will come back from their extended hiatus, not even Simon Cowell.
Directioners, I think it’s time to officially freak out about the future of our boys because Simon just admitted he doesn’t know if One Direction will actually get back together.
In the world of One Direction, it seems as if this hiatus has been going on FOREVER, but in reality, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, and Liam Payne just started their vacation. While many of us have our fingers crossed that the guys will get back together and make beautiful music together after taking a break for a couple of years, Simon revealed in his interview with Billboard that he doesn’t really know what the future holds for 1D.
The father of one even admitted QUOTE, “I don’t know if it’s a hiatus or a breakup, to be honest. In a weird way, I don’t want to know. I don’t think they’ve had enough time to experience what it’s like not being in the group to really answer that.”
Did you hear that? I think it was the sound of every Directioner’s hopes and dreams being shattered.
Simon even went on to say that he actually sat down with the guys when the rumors of the group wanting to take a break started making the rounds on the internet and in various publications. He said, “When I was with them, we talked about it, and I couldn’t argue with them. They had achieved so much in a short period of time, and I didn’t want them to get jaded. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned to trust people more, particularly artists. They’ll decide when they want to come back together.”
While some die-hard Directioners may totally disagree with Simon not talking the guys into staying together, Louis revealed that he was actually pretty relieved when Simon understood where they were coming from.
The singer said QUOTE, “Simon was completely understanding when we told him we wanted to go on a break. Not once did he put any pressure on us. Most people would’ve tried to give us at least a nudge. But he didn’t. That’s a real reflection on his character. Once you get to know him, he’s lovely and kind.” Louis even added that QUOTE, “Simon is one of the first people I told about my son, Freddie. You can trust him.”
