Game of Thrones star and Joe Jonas’ girlfriend Sophie Turner is under FIRE for allegedly using a racial slur on Instagram.
And the actress has now responded to the controversy.
Yesterday Twitter went EXTRA on Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner after an Instagram story of her went viral. Sophie and her boyfriend Joe Jonas were working out with DJ and socialite Brendan Fallis who decided to snap their gym session. When Brendan pointed the camera at Sophie she said this.
So yeah, it does appear Sophie is laughing and using the N word to say hello to Instagram. However, the audio isn’t 100 percent clear. The Instagram story clip has since been deleted from Brendan’s account but versions of it have made their way to Twitter. And Twitter is NOT happy. One user wrote, “Shameful! I thought she’d be better than this! Hope she’ll not get anymore roles since this is a bad example to the children!”
Sophie was quick to deny she had used the N word. In a statement to E! News she clarified saying QUOTE, “I used the word ‘motherf*ckers’ in a recent video posted in an Instagram story and not a hateful racial slur that has been suggested. I am incredibly upset that anyone would think otherwise, and I want to make it clear that I would never use such an abhorrent word.”
