Taylor Swift Gives SURPRISE Performance At First Bar She Was Discovered At

We haven’t seen a lot of Taylor Swift lately, but when we DO see her it’s in a very intimate setting. On Saturday night Taylor surprised the crowd at the legendary Bluebird Cafe in Nashville, sitting down to sing an acoustic set with singer-songwriter Craig Wiseman. Craig happens to be an old pal of Taylor’s that she met at a charity show when she was a teen.
After receiving a standing ovation for her arrival, Taylor gave a big nod to the famous Bluebird Cafe which often host’s “Writer’s Nights” saying QUOTE, “I wanted to say a big thank you to the Bluebird Cafe. I think any songwriter in town would echo my sentiments and say that this is kind of the only place where this exists - this particular place where you get to come and hear the writer’s take on the songs they’ve put out into the world.” Taylor explained one of the first lessons she learned was that a song only needs three chords and that simplicity can be very powerful. She proved that by launching into her song “Shake It Off”.
Then Taylor opened up about her Grammy-winning song for Little Big Town, “Better Man”. She explained that not until recently did she get to experience the joy of writing something and then it going out into the world from someone else’s perspective. Taylor was grateful to get to play that song at Bluebird.
And that’s when the fireball shots began. Taylor and Craig reminisced about the time they hung out in the Fireball Whisky shot room at his CMT after-party. Taylor admitted she and Ed Sheeran stole the giant inflatable Fireball bottle from the party. Well, that tidbit alone was worth this two minutes of your life.
Then Taylor recalled the time that she asked Craig to co-write a song with her when she was 17 and he declined. That song became her hit “Love Story”. Taylor then performed it for the crowd, along with “You Belong With Me”, and more. Taylor’s trip down memory lane was filmed for a documentary in honor of Bluebird Cafe’s 35th anniversary. And in case you forgot this Swift trivia fact- Bluebird holds great significance for Taylor as the place that Big Machine Label Group first heard her sing.
