Taylor Swift casually performs “This Is What You Came For” during her big comeback performance!
Ahhh it feels good to be back in Taymerica! Taylor gave us a little MORE than what we came for.
Over the weekend Taylor Swift headlined at Austin’s Formula One United States Grand Prix.
Sadly, Taylor did NOT gift us with new music at her first concert of 2016 buuuuuut she did play a piano version of Rihanna’s hit, “This Is What You Came For”. You know- the song that she secretly wrote with her ex-boyfriend Calvin Harris? That’s the one.
Before going into her piano version of the track Taylor told the crowd, “I’ve never played this song live before! But if you know it, maybe you could sing along, and I could get to know what that feels like, to hear it sung back to me.” Obviously, TayTay was being coy. She bounced back from an emotional drama-filled summer by coming for Calvin in the classiest way possible. During the Grand Prix performance Taylor played tracks from multiple albums including 1989, Red, and even Fearless. To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of her first album, Taylor performed early hits “Fifteen” and “You Belong With Me”. At one point she had to excuse herself to take a tissue break explaining to the crowd, “Of course you play one show and you get a cold!” Yes sadly, Taylor confirmed this will be her ONLY show of 2016, hopefully that means she is hard at work in the studio finishing up new music. Taylor Instagrammed some candid pics from the performance and captioned one photo, “Thank you Austin, TX. You were EVERYTHING tonight.” It’s your turn Swifties!
