Madame Tussauds unveiled a new wax figure of Beyonce but the figure quickly sparked outrage for it’s blatant lack of resemblance to Queen B. Today’s episode is presented by T-Mobile - America’s Best Unlimited Network.
No wax figure of Beyonce should be able to be mistaken for Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan. Get it together Madame Tussauds.
The Beyhive is feeling personally victimized after a tweet went viral that revealed Madame Tussauds’ latest wax figure of Beyonce. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out why the Beyhive is upset by the depiction. I don’t know who that wax figure is of but it’s not Beyonce.
Twitter was quick to point out that everything from the facial features, to her physique, to the overall complexion of the figure are more reminiscent of a white woman which has led the museum to be accused of white washing. After catching wind of the controversy surrounding the wax figure, Madame Tussauds released a statement to E! News saying QUOTE - "Our talented team of sculptors takes every effort to ensure we accurately color match all of our wax figures to the celebrity being depicted. Lighting within the attraction combined with flash photography may distort and misrepresent the color of our wax figures." But color aside, it still looks nothing like her.
Twitter went in, with one person saying QUOTE – “Beyonce's wax figure at @MadameTussauds looks like Kate Gosselin from 'Kate Plus 8' wearing a purple ensemble. Um, can we get a re-do?”Another said – “Hello, @MadameTussauds! I was just wondering if you could tell me who this is? Is it...Haylie Duff?” The comparisons continued with – “Uh, Beyonce's wax figure looks like Christina Aguilera.” And “I thought this was Lindsay Lohan at first glance.” Another said - “This is a melanin-defunct, lipless, thickless Bey.” And the Beyhive couldn’t help but to notice that on the same day the Beyonce wax figure went viral, Madame Tussauds unveiled a wax figure of Kylie Jenner that looks more like Kylie than Kylie so what gives? One person tweeted – “Kylie's wax figure is legit identical down to the lashes... soo what's yall excuse for beyonce's.” People were quick to point out that the museum clearly put more effort into Kylie’s, however after some research, the Beyhive discovered that in the history of Beyonce wax figures, none of them look like her. One person tweeted photo of a few saying QUOTE – “Theory: Beyoncé wax figure makers have never seen Beyoncé.” So the only reasonable explanation here is that Beyonce is just impossible to recreate.
