Ministry of International Trade and Industry Senior Director Datuk J. Jayasiri highlights that the ratification process of the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement was the first time an international treaty was brought to Parliament for a decision. The power to decide on a free-trade agreement constitutionally belongs to the executive.
