As we know advent calendars are traditionally filled with chocolate, but retailers are stepping up their advent calendar game this year by busting out some very unique variations of the Christmas staple, including a WINE version of an advent calendar.
The UK’s Virgin wines has released a Wine Advent Calendar featuring 24 individual, single-serving wine bottles that will help you count down all the days until Christmas. The calendar is retailing at 80 pounds which is about a hundred dollars, and are available at virginwines.co.uk. According to the site, the wines in the calendar feature QUOTE, “only the very best wines from our exclusive network of independent winemakers across the globe.”
But before you go and spend all your money over there, Virgin isn’t the only company offering a unique alcohol-filled advent calendar this year. If wine isn’t really your thing, there’s also a whisky advent calendar, a number of beer advent calendars, gin advent calendars, and even and absinthe advent calendar--which will probably make you forget it’s Christmas altogether come day 24. There’s even a prosecco advent calendar, and to that I say I’ll take 5.
While most of these advent calendars are available online, not all of them are shipping to the US, so definitely do your research. Of course, none of these alcoholic advent calendars work out for you, you can always stock up on the chocolate advent calendars and create your own alcoholic advent calendars by having one drink every day until Christmas. Responsibly, of course.
