X RATED TURKISH STREET FOOD | ISTANBUL STREET FOOD tour | Giant kebab feast + traditional TURKISH FOOD
We're in Istanbul, Turkey! This is one of our favourite cities and we've spent 2 months eating our way around Istanbul to create this series. This 4 part series is about showing you the best Istanbul street food and hunting down local food and heritage Turkish shops and restaurants which are Istanbul icons. This is our fourth Istanbul food video and it's based in Kadikoy on the Asian side of Istanbul- where we've been staying for the past couple of months. We start with muhlama a speciality from the Black Sea region- it's basically Turkish cheese fondue! Made up of local cheese, cornmeal and a tonne of butter and served with bread- a delicious, cheesy breakfast!

Next up we hunt down one of Turkey's most unusual street foods- it's from Adana and isn't too common in Istanbul- it's called Şırdan and is a sheep's intestine which is stuffed with rice and then sewn up and cooked slowly in broth before being sprinkled with chilli and cumin to serve. It's the most unusual looking street food we have ever seen- really phallic!

Kebab is a general term for any type of meat which is fashioned onto a skewer and then roasted or grilled. At Aboov's we eat Adana kebab (spicy minced lamb), tavuk kanat (chicken wings) and lamb şiş kebab (cubes of lamb). Kebab are usually served with lavash (flatbread), ezme a Turkish salad of tomatoes, parsley, onion and pomegranate molasses, onions and parsley tossed in sumac and pickles. We wash it down with a cup of fresh ayran- a salty, thin yoghurt drink.
