YouTube Star Gigi Gorgeous Detained In Dubai For Being Transgender

Gigi was detained at the Dubai airport because an immigration officer found out she was transgender. According to TMZ an officer explained to the social media star, “I was told you are transgender. You cannot come into the country.” In Dubai the quote “imitation of women by men” is illegal and punished with up to a year in jail! We’re not sure how the officer found out she was transgender as Gigi claims her passport has her new name and identity on it reading Gigi Loren. However, Dubai airport police maintain that the passport describes her as a male. Gigi was born Gregory Allan Lazzarto and famously documented her transition online gaining millions of adoring fans. She continued sharing her journey by posting an emotional photo on Instagram after the scary 5 hour ordeal writing, “...this was the moment by baby came to rescue me. Yesterday was one of the scariest moments of my entire life and I wouldn’t wish it upon anyone. How you can be denied entry somewhere just because of who you are is seriously disgusting and also very scary. This further proves the need for CHANGE.” Gigi assured fans she was safe and on her way to a more accepting place. And pal Miley Cyrus showed support by reposting the photo on her Instagram account.
