Fans fear for Marina Joyce’s safety due to really bizarre behavior on her YouTube channel.
If you aren’t familiar, Marina Joyce is a bubbly blonde 19-year-old British YouTube vlogger with almost a million subscribers. The hashtag #SaveMarinaJoyce has been trending on Twitter over the past few days due to concerning moments in her videos and messages in her captions. The popular theories about what is going on include: an abusive boyfriend, a kidnapping, or excessive drug use. Her latest video “Date Outfit Ideas” sees a man holding a script in the corner of the video and at one point she seems to whisper “help me”- watch for yourself.
In addition to that clip, a Q&A see Marina nervously looking to the side of the camera at someone in fear, fueling the kidnapping theory. To fuel the abusive boyfriend theory have been tons of screenshots shared by fans of Marina with nasty bruises on her arms and wrists. Nope, we’re not even close to being done yet. There’s also a shotgun in the background of her videos, which some fans say that’s been there for years. On one video fans asked Marina to draw a heart on her hand in her next video if she was in danger, to which she responded by wearing a heart necklace and making a heart shape with her hands. Hmmmm. Then Marina changed the description on a video from fourth months to read, “This video is about LET’S KEEP SPEAKING MR I LOVE YOU SO MUCH”. If you google, “Mr I Love You”, up pops a movie about a serial killer struggling with love and murder. Woah. Needless to say, fans have been going nuts with the theories. Other pointed out the two blue lines on her cheek which can be a cry for help for someone in captivity or domestic violence. Lastly we’ll mention this photo of what looks like a chain coming out of her shirt? Is she chained up to something? WHAT DOES IT THIS ALL MEAN? On July 26 Marina tweeted about a 6:30am meetup which seemed suspicious to fans so they begged people not to go for fear it was a trap. Today Marina tweeted, “Im TOTALLY fine guys, i am feeling very good today and its actually so heartwarming to see so many people care about me”. To prove it she livestreamed explaining that police had come to her door, and the bruises are from an incident she can’t talk about. Her Mom reportedly joined her on the stream saying Marina bruises easily. Okay. One final theory we’d like to mention: what if this is all a PR stunt gone wrong? We hope not. YouTube manager Craig Dillon tweeted yesterday, “Stop asking me about Marina Joyce, she's had a huge drug problem for ages, we've all tried to help #savemarinajoyce but she won't accept it.” YouTube prankster Sam Pepper tweeted a similar sentiment. Are drugs the reason she is acting paranoid and injured? Is her boyfriend running her channel for her? Is that why she’s been ignoring her fans pleas for answers?
