After posting a series of offensive videos, including one that showed the dead body of a suicide victim and one that showed Logan tazing a dead rat, on February 8th YouTube suspended ads on his channel, and put him on a probation period. YouTube had also removed Logan from their Google Preferred ads program, which is the premium ad platform that only top creators get to enjoy.
So here we are, 18 days later, and ads are back on Logan’s channel. According to Buzzfeed, Logan and his team came to an agreement with YouTube, and the creator promises to adhere to YouTube’s rules moving forward. Although ads are now running on his channel again, Logan is still removed from Google preferred ads, and is still on probation.
Many people took to social media to share their frustration with the news that Logan is already making money on the platform again, with one tweeting QUOTE, “No, don't give him ads, don't let him have a channel. The guy is not funny and is toxic as hell”, while another shared QUOTE, “@YouTube Thank you so much for forgiving a man who recorded and shared a video of a dead human being to children and. I hope you know my 7 year old sister saw that video. She's still sleeping in my parents room.”
As for the probation and how Logan will have to handle his videos moving forward, the probation is set for 90-days, and it basically means that his videos are not eligible to appear in the Trending category. His content has also been removed from the front page, will not be recommended to non-subscribers, and a number of YouTube Red projects he was a part of have also been put on hold.
Despite all the backlash and all the outrage against Logan Paul’s offensive videos, YouTube’s CEO says he doesn’t deserve to be completely pulled from the platform, saying QUOTE, “He hasn’t done anything that would cause those three strikes...We can’t just be pulling people off our platform. They need to violate a policy. We need to have consistent [rules].”
Okay guys now that you’ve got the updated on Logan Paul’s YouTube status, I wanna know what you think of him getting his ad revenue back--do you think he deserves it, or do you believe he still hasn’t learned his lesson, and will only continue to put out more crass content?
