Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has denied a claim that Turkish operatives were involved in operation to arrest the three Turkish men in Malaysia.
He was responding to a report in a Turkish portal which claimed that Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency had reported that Turkish operatives helped in the arrest of Turgay Karaman, Ihsan Aslan and Ismet Ozcelik.
Zahid said that Malaysian authorities had arrested the trio after the police obtained information from the Regional Digital Counter-Messaging Centre (CMC) that the three were members of an organisation banned in Turkey, and wanted to use Malaysia as a place to launch a new movement outside of Turkey.
