Zayn Malik was just confusing fans left and right this past weekend
First he’s rolling around New York in a wheelchair and then he was asking fans to donate to a GoFundMe? What is going on, Zayn?!
Before we get into this whole GoFundMe mess, I’m sure you all want to know how Zayn is doing after he was seen wheeling into Gigi’s apartment in New York over the weekend and news flash you guys, he’s doing just fine.
The ‘Still Got Time’ singer apparently injured his foot, which is why he was in a wheelchair outside of his girlfriend’s apartment. Zayn’s rep confirmed the injury with People magazine by saying QUOTE, “Zayn injured his foot but is fine.” Whew, glad Z’s doing well!
Although the singer is injured physically, he kinda sorta got injured socially on Twitter after he tweeted asking fans to help donate to a GoFundMe to help his mom’s best friend who, according to the GoFundMe page, was diagnosed with an incurable, inoperable, metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
While the gesture was definitely sweet since Zayn’s Zquad is a force to be reckoned with on Twitter, his fans didn’t take too kindly to his generous tweet. Quite a few fans wondered why Zayn didn’t donate the money since the woman is his mom’s best friend and well, he’s probably pretty loaded from when he used to be in One Direction.
One fan responded to the request by saying QUOTE, “Aren’t you super rich?” While another wrote, ‘Instead of asking your fans, why don’t you pay it?’
But, not everyone was harsh towards Zayn. A friend of his responded by saying they’d donate a few quids for their friend. How nice.
