Zendaya may star in this summer’s Spider-Man: Homecoming blockbuster, but tonight she played the role of humanitarian. After winning the award for Choice Summer Movie Actress, Zendaya gave a moving speech in wake of the recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia. Protests in response to a white nationalist rally left one person dead and nineteen others injured.
Zendaya took this timely opportunity to give a heartfelt message to young people everywhere.
Zendaya’s emotional speech wasn’t over there. She ended with a passionate plea asking for her fans to help make this world a better place: “You’re the future leaders of the world, you’re the future presidents, the future senators, and you guys are the ones who are gonna make this world better.”
