The doll which is SPOT ON, to Zendaya’s image can be seen all over her instagram account. Just a couple days ago the star posted this side by side photo of her and the barbie captioned QUOTE: “When I was little I couldn’t find a Barbie that looked like me, my…how times have changed, thank you @Barbie for this honor and for allowing me to be apart of your diversification and expansion of the definition of beauty. Can’t wait to keep doing amazing things with you.”
The actress, singer joins the likings of other stars like Beyonce, Jenifer Lopez, Rosie O’donnell AND of course Niki Manaj who have all been Barbified BUT Nicki, wanted to remind EVERYONE THAT SHE of course was Barbified before Zendaya! She took to instagram with this pic captioned QOUTE: Congrats on your doll, Zendaya! Did u know Barbie made me one a cpl years back? It was such an honor & a HUGE surprise. Anyway, I love your doll's hair! I love what it means for other little girls who will identify with it & be empowered. Continue to be proud of yourself girls!!!!! #Barbie
Some users thought it would have been more appropriate to just congratulate Zendaya on her Barbie getting all kinds of crazy in the comment section, however I think it’s probably just Nicki being Nicki…
Demi Lovato was also among the few who commented out on the doll, taking to twitter saying QUOTE: Hey @Barbie, what about a curvy doll or one with true to size measurements? I’ll model #Raiseyourvoice #besuper
Demi quickly deleted that tweet, and you can never be certain as to why someone goes back and deletes a tweet, but I’m assuming that she decided it wasn’t the time or place seeing that Zendaya’s doll was just released… It’s on brand for Demi’s confidant and I’m glad she’s standing up for what she believes in, but I also think that this is a time for Zendaya to shine.
